What Is a Surah?
A Surah (سورة) is a chapter of the Quran. Each Surah has a unique name, begins with Bismillah (except Surah At-Tawbah), and contains one or more ayat (verses). The order was arranged by the Prophet ﷺ under divine guidance — not in the order of revelation.
