Memorize the Quran — The Greatest Honor in Islam
Becoming a Hafiz of the Quran is one of the greatest honors in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The one who is proficient in reciting the Quran will be with the honorable and obedient angels." (Bukhari)
Hifz (حفظ) means memorization of the entire Quran — all 114 Surahs, 30 Juz, and 6,236 verses. A person who has memorized the complete Quran is called a Hafiz (male) or Hafiza (female).
- Keeps the words of Allah in your heart forever
- Earns the intercession of the Quran on the Day of Judgment
- Honors your family — the Hafiz will crown his parents with a crown of light
- Deepens your understanding of every Salah you pray
- Connects you to an unbroken tradition of Quranic preservation
Allah has promised: "And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember — so is there anyone who will be mindful?" (Surah Al-Qamar 54:17)
